Water
Water submetering is based on the concept of measuring
the actual cost of water consumed in an individual apartment.
The water submeters are installed on the water lines and
are read by a remote wireless communication system.
SSI
simply reads the consumption monthly or as necessary and
generates a water bill to the residents based on actual
gallons used and the rates charged to the community by
the utility company. Residents may either make
payments on-line or send a check or money order with
the remittance portion of their monthly invoice. Landlords
are then reimbursed for their portion of what was collected
by SSI.
Once
residents become financially responsible for their own
consumption, the overall usage in an entire community
will be reduced by an average of 35%. In order to assist
residents in controlling the water consumption, we have
provided some conservation
tips that will assist in the ongoing conservation
effort.
Electricity
Electric submetering is based on the concept
of measuring the electricity used in the individual apartment.
The electric meters are installed near the circuit breaker
panels in the apartments or another distribution point
within the building and are read by either a remote wireless
or PLC (power line communication) system.
SSI
simply reads the consumption monthly or as necessary and
generates an electric bill to the residents based on actual
kilowatt hours used and the rates charged to the community
by the utility company. Residents then make
payments on-line or send a check or money order with
the remittance portion of their monthly invoice. Landlords
are then reimbursed for their portion of what was collected
by SSI.
Natural
Gas
Natural gas submetering is based on the
concept of measuring the natural gas used in the individual
furnaces and gas cooking ranges or either one individually.
The natural gas meters are installed on the gas lines
accordingly and are read by a remote wireless communication
system.
SSI
simply reads the consumption on a monthly basis and generates
a natural gas bill to the residents based on actual therms
used and rates charged to the community by the utility
company. Residents then make
payments on-line or send a check or money order with
the remittance portion of their monthly invoice. Landlords
are then reimbursed for their portion of what was collected
by SSI.
